Welcome to the New SFWA Events!

For years, SFWA staged out events on events.sfwa.org, but we’re bringing our events “home” to SFWA.org for an important reason: better integration.

Instead of two separate login systems, we have one – with seamless event-access for all future ticket purchases from store.sfwa.org. Yes, this includes our Nebula Awards Conference, where in-person and virtual tickets close on Tuesday, May 26 at 11:59 P.M. PDT!

And instead of having events “stuck” on just one page, we now have an interface that allows us to promote the work of our volunteers and their presenters all across the website. This means that committee and project teams will have upcoming events front and center on their main pages, right next to deep dives into relevant creative topics.

Best of all? You can now add events to your personal User Profile. If you’re logged in, click on an event in our calendar to have it pop up for review, or use the dashboard below the calendar for more targeted searches by committee of origin or event type.

If “ADD TO MISSION LOG” isn’t visible, click on the title to see the event card’s full view. Check that box, and the event will show up on your dashboard feed below, and under “Mission Log” on your profile page. Once an event has concluded, it will stay in your archive for later review.

You will also note that SFWA now finally shows local time for events on most displays. (Hello, 21st Century!) If you have a VPN turned on, your experience may vary, but we hope this improves your Nebula conference this year, and all other events via SFWA.org.

Thank you for growing with us! It’s been a wild ride, and your support through these technical transformations has meant the world to our team. Check back soon for news about a proper Open House to provide more insight into this and other recent changes here on SFWA.org.
