Games & Comics Quarterly

SFWA Members, Submit Your Recent and Upcoming Releases!

In collaboration with our Game Writing and Comics Committees, we are proud to provide Games & Comics Quarterly, a version of our New Release Newsletter that provides a quarterly platform for SFWA Members' recent and upcoming games and comics, and also a space to discuss industry events for these vital parts of the SFF universe.

Subscribe today to keep up with new games and comics releases, along with news of note from our Game Writing and Comics Committees about industry events and awards. Don’t miss out!

Who can submit?

Submissions to the G&CQ are open to SFWA members in good standing. For team projects, so long as one creator is a SFWA member, we are happy to support the work!

Members submitting to the G&CQ must have memberships up-to-date on the 10th of the submission month (October, January, April, July).

What Can You Submit?

Your stand-alone published work can be any type of game (tabletop, card, RPG, video game) or comic/graphic novel format, so long as it’s in the speculative fiction genre. Indie and traditionally published works alike are welcome. Nonfiction related to SFF gaming or comics (e.g., a history of X) is also eligible for listing, both here and in NRN. SFWA reserves the right to refuse any title.

Submissions are limited to one per author per issue, and it is up to the submitting author to ensure that they are not in violation of embargo or other critical contract clause if their product is part of a larger franchise. Be sure to include a link to where the publication can be purchased, ordered, downloaded, or watched. Uploading cover art is also required. If you do not have that information yet, please wait to complete this form until you do.

When Does G&CQ Launch Its Newsletter and Catalog?

The newsletter releases every quarter: January, April, July, and October. Your submission form must be received by the 10th of the release month to be included in the mailout.

Prize Giveaways

All authors are welcome to give away up to 5 promotional materials related to their new release to readers, print or digital. The prize winners will be drawn and notified in the week after the newsletter goes out. If you are giving away the second or later book in, say, a comics series, we HIGHLY recommend offering the first book in the series as a prize instead.

Write to prizes@sfwa.org to learn more. Make sure it’s white-listed in your email, so that you don’t miss out on prizes of your own!

What’s New in the Program?

We have new spotlight options!

All authors are entitled to a half-page ad, but you can also purchase a full-page listing for $25 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Then, add on $10 more for a second page that features a) two back-catalog or other upcoming titles, or b) a project interview. We look forward to showcasing your multimedia storytelling and celebrating your launches!

We are also offering ad spaces to presses and workshops at large. If you have a slate of events or releases to share, write to gandcq@sfwa.org to learn more about promoting with SFWA.
