Philip Reeve’s first novel, the futuristic YA adventure Mortal Engines, was published in 2001 (and is currently being turned into a movie by Peter Jackson). He followed it with three sequels, three prequels, and three unrelated children’s fantasy stories about goblins. He won the Carnegie Medal in 2008 with his revisionist Arthurian novel Here Lies Arthur. In 2010 he started working with illustrator Sarah McIntyre to create highly illustrated adventures for younger readers such as Oliver and the Seawigs and Pugs of the Frozen North. Inspired by this collaboration, he has returned to YA with the science fiction epic Railhead and its sequel, Black Light Express. He lives with his wife and son on Dartmoor in south-west England, where he is currently working on the third book in the Railhead sequence.
