Michael Bishop is the author of two Nebula Award-winning works of fiction, the novelette “The Quickening” and the novel No Enemy But Time. Recently he has been publishing significant revisions of several of his earlier novels with Patrick Swenson’s Fairwood Press and his own imprint there, Kudzu Planet Productions. These books include Brittle Innings, Ancient of Days, Who Made Stevie Crye?, Count Geiger’s Blues, A Funeral for the Eyes of Fire, and Philip K. Dick Is Dead, Alas, all with new cover art and special introductions by Elizabeth Hand, Michael Hutchins, John Kessel, Jack Slay, Paul Di Filippo, and Daryl Gregory respectively.
He has just published his first new solo novel in over twenty years, Joel-Brock the Brave and the Valorous Smalls, a book for young people (“Whatever Their Age”), with over sixty evocative black-and-white illustrations by the talented young artist, Orion Zangara. Later this year he will publish a collection of primarily mainstream short fiction, Other Arms Reach Out to Me: Georgia Stories. He lives in Pine Mountain, Georgia, with his wife Jeri.
