Lawrence M. Schoen holds a PhD in cognitive psychology, has been nominated for the Campbell, Hugo, and Nebula awards, won the Cóyotl award, and received the Kevin O’Donnell Jr. Service to SFWA Award. He’s also is a world authority on the Klingon language, owner of the small press Paper Golem, and is a certified hypnotherapist specializing in authors’ issues.
Much of his science fiction consists of light and humorous adventures of a space-faring stage hypnotist and his alien animal companion. His anthropomorphic novels set on the world of Barsk take a very different tone, exploring issues of prophecy and free will, intolerance and acceptance, and the continua between life and death. He lives near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife and their dog.
