Andy Duncan has won a Nebula Award, a Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award and three World Fantasy Awards for his short fiction, which has appeared in such venues as Asimov’s, Clarkesworld, Conjunctions, Lightspeed, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Tor.com and Weird Tales, as well as many original and reprint anthologies.
His books include the novella Wakulla Springs (co-written with Ellen Klages), the fiction collections Beluthahatchie and Other Stories and The Pottawatomie Giant and Other Stories, the fiction anthology Crossroads: Tales of the Southern Literary Fantastic (co-edited with F. Brett Cox), and the non-fiction travel guide Alabama Curiosities.
A graduate of Clarion West 1994, he has taught at Clarion and Clarion West multiple times. He is also a graduate of the creative-writing programs at North Carolina State University and the University of Alabama. He is a permanent member of the Sturgeon Award jury and has been a juror for the World Fantasy, Shirley Jackson, Philip K. Dick and Bram Stoker awards.
A native of Batesburg, S.C., he lives with his wife, Sydney, in the mountains of western Maryland, where he is an associate professor of English at Frostburg State University and faculty adviser of the independent student newspaper, The Bottom Line.
