Vesperil is a shared-world fantasy anthology in which the Fellowship of the Greenstaff quests to save the world… but the book isn't about them. Told entirely from the perspectives of the ordinary people the hero's journey overlooks, Vesperil follows the lives of those left behind while the great adventure passes them by. The book joins a lineage of shared-world anthologies like Liavek and Thieves World that inspired the initial concept.

Vesperil brings together eight authors — C.H. Rosenberg, Damian Stockli, Hannah Hulbert, Rob Francis, Maggie Slater, Suzanne J. Willis, Michael Gardner, and B. Morris Allen — in an original, book-length collaboration set in a single shared world. All of the contributors are Metaphorosis magazine alumni, making this project a reunion of proven creative talent.

This debut collection by Nebula-nominated author P.A. Cornell brings together twenty-one tales of fantasy and science fiction that run the gamut from lighthearted to dark. The stories examine our connections to each other, to technology, to the world that surrounds us, and even to ourselves.
