Stanley R. Greenberg (1928-2002), won a Nebula Award for his screenplay Soylent Green, an adaptation of Harry Harrison’s novel Make Room! Make Room! Born in Chicago, he became known as the father of the docudrama for his Emmy award winning Pueblo, in 1973, the same year Soylent Green came out. Greenberg wrote for the theatre as well as television and film and Pueblo was originally written for the stage. Later docudramas written by Greenberg included The Missiles of October and Blind Ambition. Primary to working on docudramas, Greenberg wrote for the traditional television shows The Defenders and The Nurses.
