Estates Contact Information
Note: SFWA does not itself represent any estates, but only acts to connect interested parties to estate representatives. While SFWA believes it’s important for authors and their estates to receive payment for republication of their works, we must also acknowledge that some of the stories and novels by these authors have fallen into the public domain and are free for all to use and republish as they like. The Stanford Copyright & Fair Use Tools Page provides a beginning place to determine the copyright status of a work. By providing contact information, SFWA makes no warrant as to the legal status of these representatives or which works are still copyrighted in the U.S.
For agents and other institutional contacts listed below, the best source for contact information is typically the agency’s or institution’s website. Because web addresses are subject to change without notice, we recommend that you start with a search engine like Google, or an industry directory service like Publisher’s Marketplace or Query Tracker. If you are unable to find contact information for an agency contact through these sources, you can let us know at estates@sfwa.org. We may be able to help.
Listings which link to the Estate Project’s e-mail (estates@sfwa.org) are those estates handled by private individuals. Queries sent to us will be passed along in a manner such that contact information stays private.
