Piccirilli, Tom: The Midnight Road (Bantam, Jul07)
Not really fantasy or science-fiction--unless you wanna think of "noir world" as being some parallel dimension where heroes and villains are messed up in equal but opposite ways, where no good deed ever goes unpunished, and where the justice that triumphs in the end is bittersweet to put it mildly. I remember seeing Piccirilli's stories in magazines a decade or more ago, so it's good to see he's still making things happen. Give this one a try if you like 'em hard-boiled.
