Nisi Shawl will introduce the premiere screening of Asli Dukan's film on Blacks in speculative fiction, "Invisible Universe," at the Langston Hughes African American Film Festival. The film will be shown on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, 104 17th Avenue South in Seattle's Central District, just off Yesler. "Invisible Universe" includes footage of Seattle SF author Octavia E. Butler and other major African American writers, scholars, and artists. Afterwards, Nisi and the film's director/producer will discuss "Invisible Universe" and related subjects with audience members.
