Not a SFWA® Award Winner

You may have arrived at this page following a link proclaiming

"This book has just won first place as Best Novel on the Web for 1999 in the prestigious Preditors & Editors poll conducted by the Science Fiction Writers of America. You can see the results of that voting at this site: [link]"

The truth is, The Scythian Stone, a.k.a. The Blackgloom Bounty, by Jon F. Baxley, has not won any SFWA® award.

There is no SFWA award "for the best novel on the web." See the Awards section of the web site for information regarding the Nebula Awards® and other accolades that SFWA does bestow.

Preditors and Editors

Preditors and Editors (P & E) does have a readers' poll. SFWA does have cordial relations with P & E, and SFWA did provide web space to P & E at one time. However, P & E is not and has never been a part of SFWA. P & E's awards are its own business and have nothing to do with SFWA.
