Market Disqualification

The Membership Committee may remove a venue from the list of qualified markets for membership purposes that once met the requirements but has been observed no longer to meet the criteria.

The committee will send an informal query to the market to confirm current conditions if they are not obvious.

A market will have a one year grace period from time of query for issues relating to pay rate, production schedule, or circulation. Markets inside such a grace period will not be publicly noted as being in such a grace period, and sales made during the grace period will be considered qualifying if they meet the pay rate criteria that all sales must meet. After the grace period expires, a market will be moved to the formerly-qualifying list (with dates of qualification noted).

A market will be immediately removed from the list if it becomes a vanity press or otherwise allows self-publication.

A market can be relisted if it meets the criteria like any other new market (i.e. year of consistency, etc.).
