Updates from SFWA Eastern Regional Director, Diane Turnshek:

Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America will co-sponsor a fancy dress reception at Capclave science fiction convention at the Hilton Washington DC/Silver Spring on October 21st at 9:00 pm. Fancy dress is encouraged but not required; favorite drop-dead dress or jeans as you prefer.

SFWA members that want to ask for an invitation to be a program participant, should contact Elaine Brennan at: program@capclave.org.

The reception is free for members of the convention. SFWA members attending just the one night function, that are not program participants, will need to purchase at least a one day membership ($30) to be admitted to the fancy dress reception.

There will be a regional business meeting at Philcon science fiction convention on Saturday, November 18, 2006. Members do not have to register for the convention to attend the meeting.

The convention will be held at the Sheraton Center City in Philadelphia, PA. The meeting time has not yet been set.
