Storytronics: A New Way to Tell Stories
Presentation by Laura J. Mixon

Saturday, 11:00 a.m.-Noon

Laura J. Mixon

How many times have we fantasized about the next big thing in storytelling technology? From brainjacks and virtual worlds to the Holodeck, we SF writers have always been fascinated by the future of storytelling. It was only a matter of time before technologists would act on our visions. Interactive storytelling — computer entertainment works that focus on people, not just things — has become the holy grail of the computer games industry.

I have been working for over ten years with veteran game designer Chris Crawford on an interactive storytelling "authoring tool," which will allow creative individuals to craft interactive storyworlds for others' enjoyment. We are on the brink of achieving our goal. We have a working, stable tool for creating storyworlds, and a tiny, working demo.

If you are curious as to what all the ruckus is about, come learn more about it.

For more information, visit our website.

Hope to see you there!
