From tv and film novelizations to screenplay adaptations of novels, today's markets have expanded the writer's opportunities to tell their tale. Graphic novels, Internet video, and other new media avenues will also be discussed.

Diana Dru Botsford is a transplanted New Yorker (Go Mets!) with a varied background in Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. She has written for Star Trek: The Next Generation ("Rascals"), as well as various animation series including the SF cult hit "Spiral Zone," "Inspector Gadget," and, gulp, "Pound Puppies & The Legend of Big Paw." In between writing jaunts, she's designed, directed and supervised Visual Effects for films such as "Dusk Til Dawn, ""Nightmare on Elm Street VI," and "Tank Girl." As VP of Family Programming for The Kushner-Locke Company, she oversaw script development for animated and live action television series and theatrical films. She has also served as writer-in-residence for the Springfield Little Theatre, one of the largest community theatres in the U.S.
A graduate of Seton Hill University's MA in Writing Popular Fiction program, Botsford includes among her current work her first SF novel and the soon to be released SF comic book series, "The Fracture" from FE Comics, which makes its debut on newstands August 15th. In her copious amounts of spare time, Botsford corrupts young minds at Missouri State University where she heads the screenwriting program.

Keith R.A. DeCandido has written more than 30 novels in a decade of being a novelist, the vast majority of which are media tie-ins, in the worlds of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Command and Conquer, CSI: NY, Doctor Who, Farscape, Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Magic: The Gathering, Marvel Comics, Resident Evil, Serenity, StarCraft, Star Trek, Supernatural, World of Warcraft, Xena, and Young Hercules. His one non tie-in is 2004's Dragon Precinct; he's also published several short stories in that novel's universe. Keith is also an editor, responsible for the monthly Star Trek eBook line, and the editor of dozens of anthologies, including the upcoming Doctor Who: Short Trips: The Quality of Leadership.
