The science journal Nature has just published Vonda N. McIntyre’s flash fiction, “Misprint,” in its Futures column. “Misprint” is McIntyre’s second appearance in Nature, following her story “A Modest Proposal for the Perfection of Nature,” which was reprinted in Year’s Best SF 11, ed. Hartwell & Cramer. “Misprint” is not yet freely available online, but “A Modest Proposal” may be found at McIntyre’s website in the Online Fiction section. Her online fiction includes “Of Mist, and Grass, and Sand” (Nebula award), “The Adventure of the Field Theorems” (in which Sir Arthur Conan Doyle hires Sherlock Holmes to investigate crop circles), “Little Faces” (Nebula nominee, 2007), and “Elfleda” (in which human masters make sport with mythological creatures). In other news, McIntyre’s Nebula-award winning novels The Moon and the Sun and Dreamsnake are now available as unabridged audio downloads from audible.com, and in print editions directly from the author.
